The Poetry of Geri Rizzo
WALLS
So many walls we all build up
That we forget to see,
The here and now,
What was before,
And what is yet to be.
We fasten blinders so air tight
The rest of us can't breathe.
The game is fear!
So don't come near!
I'll burn you first - you'll see!
We're in a vacuum flailing about,
Like astronauts in space,
We've yet to find, or even search for,
A peaceful, mindful place.
And so we build the wall real strong,
Too strong to penetrate,
And unless we let somebody in
Too soon may be too late.
