John and Geri met at an open mic at a
popular cafe in Southern NJ. They soon started their own
open mic and enjoyed playing so much together they decided to
keep it going!
Geri Rizzo has been charming audiences with her amazingly
effortless Bach to Rock flute playing
for over 20 years. She is classically trained (New England Conservatory
of Music) and has performed in
Carnegie Hall, Washington DC, Boston
and many NY venues playing classical, jazz and rock and can adapt her operatically
trained voice to any genre. Geri's first two albums were Led
Zeppelin's "Zeppelin" and Beethoven's Nine Symphonies. She
loves playing all kinds of music and can jump right into
anything she hears! In addition to reading music, this
makes her a very flexible musician. Geri loves the sound of the
Haynes flute which she plays.
John Oelkers played in hard rock bands in Northern New
Jersey ("Echo") most of his life
and can wail with the best...
but don't let that fool you! You will just love his full acoustic guitar
sound! John plays on a Breedlove guitar. John is a justa naturally
gifted master
guitarist!
